hello and welcome to our stupid 1021 Twin Peaks Super Bowl year are you excited about this year this year are and guess what so am I static about teaching your child and working with you because I know that together we will make this year the best year ever I have enjoyed getting to know your found in the past couple of weeks so I don't need to share some information about myself with you I am honored to have pot Thompson's brightest little man for nearly 20 years all of which have been Maxwell Elementary preschool I am a proud graduate of Thompson High School go Bulldogs I hold a Bachelor of Science and master's degree in early childhood education from Augusta State University also obtained an educational specialist degree from ASU as well additionally I have earned endorsement and reading and get it education my husband and I along with their two sons Jackson and Jaron are proud resident of Thompson and I take pride in serving my hometown by using my gifts and talents of teaching to enrich the lives of the children and families in this community mrs. Woods has worked with students for over 20 years and is a lifelong resident of Warren County she has completed programs in business and early childhood education at Augusta Technical College she enjoyed spending time with her family and absolutely loved working with students every day she is definitely an asset to our classroom one quote that got an A buyers May said reach for the moon even if you miss you'll land Among the Stars the primary goal that missus would and I share is to help each student learn all that they can be the best that they can be and with you as a part of our team we are certain that our educational efforts will be out of this world our school day is jam-packed with fun and meaningful learning opportunities and it's we spend a great deal of time working on the basics you know Reading Writing and arithmetic we also focus on science social studies are PE technology and music All In option is Guided by the Georgia standards of excellence provided by the Georgia Department of Education in conjunction with our local Board of Education since you some pertinent information about our class agenda book agenda book to located in your child's three-ring binder please be sure to check and sign your child agenda book each like this will be my primary source of communication find notes from the school or directly from me regarding important news and update again please find the agenda book each night so that I will know that you have seen it in your child's notebook you will find newsletter weekly sight words and in activity calendar the newsletters will help you keep abreast of what we are learning in class the activity calendar helps you keep track of which activity class we will attend for the day on a days we have music on bean days we have technology Auntie days we have art and on D days we have PE please please play be sure to have your child wear tennis shoes on PE days homework it is rare that I assign written homework for students however play please understand that this does not mean that your child does not have homework please be sure to spend time with each evening working on sight words letters of the alphabet count think and review it any other formation that is in your child's notebook you may send in papers for your child has practice these skills or you can text or email me pictures of your child working I'd love to see what you are doing at home is the parotid that you work with your child for at least 15 minutes each night discipline in our classroom we might to keep our primary focus on positive behavior are awarded the following are school-wide expectations in and outside of the classroom we frequently in Courage and remind students to become these days and be responsible throughout the day there are times when students make poor choices and we must work to remedy the situation may miss out on a reward receive a note in their agenda book or accompany me in a phone call to you it's whining their behavior if you keep students engaged to having so much fun learning that we won't have time for anything other than positive moments I will indicate your child's behavior in his or her agenda book each day so that you will know the type of day that he this may be in the form of a sticker smiley face note Etc ice cream money at school offered ice cream day should your child is that ice cream please see it in $1 in his or her notebook in a Ziploc bag labeled with his or her name I frequently receive money with no name and it is difficult to determine who it belongs to so please help us out with this our school and classroom both have dedicated web pages please be sure to check them out often to see what is going on at our school now let's go a bit further discuss our academic information for this year this information is so important because this is our primary purpose for being here at the ultimate goal for the school year is for your child to learn all of the necessary information and skills in order to be promoted to 1st grade in order for this to happen to you she will need to pack DNR guided reading program and 26 or more points on the basic literacy test Pandora cheese meet or exceed in five out of seven Ela progressions and domains on and four out of five in map I look forward to explaining to you individually where your child stands during our
