The J. A. Maxwell Media Center is designed to meet the needs of all of our students. Our young learners check out books that help them develop a love of reading. As an active participant in the Accelerated Reader Program, the media center is designed to help students select books within their reading range. Students are highly motivated to practice and improve their reading skills as they reach the goals set by their teachers. The media center staff assists in the recognition of these students for their accomplishments.

The media center uses an interactive circulation system in which first grade students use self-check out to keep things moving quickly and smoothly. Pre-K and kindergarten students are assisted by their teachers when checking out books. Students use the media center for checking out books, taking AR tests, and engaging in story time that involves the use of technology and is related to the curriculum.

We look forward to working with all the students and serving them in any way possible.

We are as excited as they are about the great books they encounter everyday.

Stop by and see us if you are visiting the school.
