Welcome to Cooper's Campers!
Happy new school year! My name is Tara Cooper and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year! I currently reside in Columbia County, Georgia with my husband and daughter. I have an undergraduate degree in interrelated special education and masters in curriculum and instruction. This is my tenth year teaching special education and have three years of paraprofessional experience in general education as well as special education. I get extremely excited about working with children with special needs and have the compassion and enthusiasm to help every student reach his/her goals. I promise to go to great lengths to teach the needs of our children.
As you are aware, we are operating under changed conditions here at school as a result of the restrictions caused by the Coronavirus. Masks will be required for all students and staff inside and outside of the classroom. We will be able to take a “mask break” for short periods of time outside each day. All breakfast and lunch meals will be served in the classroom. Students are welcome to bring a lunch and/or snacks from home but there will be no sharing food or drink. Please send a full water bottle with your child each day.
The general rule for your child regarding sickness is: If they have a sore throat, dry cough, general fatigue or headache then please keep them home and seek medical advice from your doctor. Please check your child’s temperature and evaluate for COVID-like symptoms before boarding a bus or reporting to school every morning.
Please know that things are subject to change and I will pass on the information as soon as we are told. I am looking forward to working with you and your child. I believe communication is the key to your child’s success and to a great parent/teacher relationship. I want to ask you to become a partner with me in your child’s education and encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. I am looking forward to our adventures with your child and family.
