Welcome to my classroom page! I love teaching Kindergarten! I graduated from ASU in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in education and have been teaching in McDuffie County ever since. I also graduated from ASU in 2009 with a master's degree in education. I have taught 4th grade, 1st grade, and Kindergarten. I have one son, Jagger, who was born in 2009. My paraprofessional is Kim Hudson. We are a great team and love our kindergarten kids!!! 💜💜💜
Things to practice at home...
ELA
-recognizing all 52 letters of the alphabet (uppercase and lowercase)
-naming all letter sounds, including the sounds for long vowels
-writing first name
-rhyming words
-heart words
-sounding out words (CVC words...consonant/vowel/consonant)
-spelling words phonetically (the way they sound)
MATH
-recognizing numbers 0-20
-counting to 100 by 1's and by 10's
-recognizing 2D shapes (rectangle, circle, square, triangle, hexagon)
-recognizing 3D shapes (cylinder, sphere, cube, cone)
-counting objects to show a specific number
