Mrs. Peterson's First Grade Class
Hello First Grade Families! I am so excited to welcome you to my class this year! Here is just a little bit about me that I would like to share! :)
I am from a small town in Southern Wisconsin, (you may notice a small accent when you speak with me).
In 2014, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I was employed at a small daycare where I got to work with the really little babies, and learned so much about their growth and development. Working at the daycare was a great experience, because it gave me experience learning about children's development from the early stages of life.
In May of 2020, I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Augusta University.
In October of 2015 I married my college sweetheart and the following month we moved here to the Augusta area. Flash forward to January of 2020 when we welcomed our first child, Axel. He's a very bright spot in our lives and we didn't know we could love someone as much as we do him.
In May of 2016, I was offered my job here at Maxwell Elementary and I am beginning my 5th year here as an educator. At MES, we treat each other like family, and your family is no exception. It may sound cheesy, but once your child/children enter our doors, they become our family too. Just know that your child/children are in good hands with us! Our classroom is comprised of Mrs. Kendrick who is entering her 21st year as an educator, and me. We can't wait to teach your children, and are looking forward to this 2020-2021 school year, (No matter how different it may be)!
