Spring Gifted Eligibility Testing

What
Spring Gifted Eligibility Testing
When
3/27/2018

The McDuffie County School System will be conducting gifted testing in March 1-31, 2018. The purpose of these assessments is to determine eligibility for gifted services. The district uses a variety of search methods to identify potential students who demonstrate need for gifted services as defined by state rules and regulations. A student may be automatically recommended by existing test scores; may recommend himself or herself; or may be recommended by parents, peers, teachers, counselors, or administrators for referral to the gifted education program. Parents of McDuffie County School System students may request screening for gifted eligibility by contacting their children's schools.

To be eligible for gifted education services in McDuffie County, students will be evaluated in four data categories: mental ability, achievement, creativity, and motivation. Students will be evaluated using instruments and qualifying scores as described by the Georgia State Board of Education Policy 160-4-2-.38 [Education Program for Gifted Students]. For further information about gifted programming in McDuffie County Schools, please contact Mrs. Margaret Samuels, Director of Student Services, at 706-986-4100.
